Life isn't easy...

I've been having Chinese friends since I was 5. In fact, I went to Chinese kindergarten, believe it or not? But for some reason, it's really difficult for Chinese names to stick to my head. I felt better though when some of my Chinese friends told me that it is difficult even for them to memorize Chinese names (makes me feel I'm pretty good, no?) Anyhoo, I went to the doctor a fews days back to get my vaccination, and as expected I got the doctor's name wrong:

Me: What's the difference between taking vaccination Hepatitis A & B and Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B separately?
Nurse: You can choose whichever you want?
Me: How should I know? I was suggested by the doctor to take the vaccination.
Nurse: Which doctor?
Me: Dr. Chua
Nurse: Err.. there's no Dr. Chua here.
Me: Are you sure? How about other doctor who's name starts with CH?
Nurse: Err.. No.
Me: Are you sure? How about Dr. Choo? Dr. Chong? Dr. Chua? (I'm quite sure it was Dr. Chua)
Nurse: No (while shaking her head showing disagreement).
Another nurse overheard our conversation and said, "Dr. Lua?"
Me: Yup, that's it, Dr. Lua. Hehe...
Nurse: Ah, Dr. Lua. Okay, you talk to him and see what he say.
Me: Okay.

How hard can that be? Very hard indeed...

I haven't blogged since forever... I miss it now. In fact, I have been missing it for a while... I have tonnes of things to say, but not sure how to put them in words, let alone writing an entry about it. Maybe I should start blogging again... I'll try, from next month onwards to continue writing, we'll see if it happens...

A lot of things had happened for the past one month -- I resigned and embarked on a new job. Things have been going well so far, and to my surprise, I actually like a slower life. At this point, I have no regrets in making this decision.

Anyways, it's normal for new joiners to write out a short paragraph about themselves. And as expected, yours truly is expected to write one. I wanted to be a little bit more casual, and avoid too much of work related stuff in my paragraph (because technically, everyone should know what I'm doing here -- it is mentioned in the job title for goodness' sake!). I mentioned that my favorite tv shows are Grey's Anatomy, The Amazing Race and Desperate Housewives.

And surprise surprise, the fact that sticks to everyone's head the most is I have this thing for Desperate Housewives. It's not a problem to me because at least I will be remembered as the-new-girl-who-loves-desperate-housewives. I guess I don't see this coming at all, but it did make me turn red when I was introduced to someone with this line, "and if you're a fan of Desperate Housewives, Dinna is one too."
